Scott B. Harris – Morgantown Lawyer

Scott Harris is a Morgantown native who graduated from University High School in 2004. From there, Scott earned a B.A. degree in Political Science from George Washington University, graduating summa cum laude in 2007. Scott then remained in the greater Washington, DC area to attend law school at George Mason University where he graduated magna cum laude and passed the Virginia bar exam in 2010.
Following law school, Scott returned to Morgantown, WV to attend graduate school at West Virginia University, earning a PhD in political science. While in graduate school, Scott also worked at the law firm Brewer & Giggenbach, PLLC as a legal assistant. While at Brewer & Giggenbach, he worked in several practice areas including commercial law, civil litigation, and personal injury. His research and writing assisted in multiple case victories, including two successful Supreme Court appeals (John v. Ringer, and Marrara v. Ripley).
Scott earned his PhD in Political Science in 2016 and accepted a position as Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of South Carolina Upstate. During his time at Upstate, Scott taught over 20 different classes, including Constitutional Law, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, the Judicial Process, and Introduction to Pre-Law. He also served as the coach of the USC Upstate Mock Trial team, published several peer review articles, and was offered promotion and tenure. Scott returned to Morgantown to join our practice in 2022. His areas of practice include criminal defense, commercial law, personal injury, and other civil litigation.
Scott has two children, Luke and Natalie, with his wife Angie, who is also a Morgantown native. The family enjoys weekend road trips, concerts, and trips on the lake.
